? STOP sharing your farm story – there are too many people already sharing their story!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SAID NO ONE EVER. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ NOW more than EVER, everyone should be doing their best, working their hardest to advocate for agriculture. As meat shortage titles rage the headlines in media outlets everywhere, we need to be speaking up for ourselves and our livelihood and telling the truth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here is very real truths for Pork Producers right now: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With packing plant closures and reduced processing, hundreds of thousands of farms are faced with really, really hard decisions. We are taking every possible step, like special formulated holding diets, repairing older buildings to hold hogs longer and looking for other outlets to sell meat, in order to avoid the inevitable, euthanization of the animals we have taken so much time and effort caring for. There is NO ONE on this planet who doesn't want to put animals down more than your farmer, I can promise you that. However, the later is unfortunately what will happen if the processing plants don't run at capacity. Thus, there is not a food shortage now, but this is a continuous flow system and somewhere down the line, there will be less food to stock the shelves. Right now, it is crisis mode for pork (and all livestock) farmers across our country. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I applaud the @NPPC and @nationalporkboard for their work advocating for farmers like our family. Thank you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the off chance you see a nasty headline out there, one that just doesn't sit right with you… ask a farmer – ASK ME questions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ AND, if you are out there just wanting to start telling your farm story, now is the BEST time to share the goodness of agriculture. We are living a nightmare in a dream life but we will get through this, one way or another. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One more thing, reach out to your local livestock producers and tell them that we are all in this together. We are not looking for thanks or sympathy – rather, a virtual "chin up" and/or pat on the back!

Idk why y'all are complaining, social distancing really isn't THAT bad.. ? . But seriously tho, what are you most looking forward to when everything "gets back to normal"? . I can't wait to see my mom again honestly. I haven't seen her since January and FaceTime just isn't the same when you have a growing grandson that she needs to see! .
