Do any of you know what this is ???? Its abnormal huge for one , homegrown , Minnesota is the #1 grower for these and Idaho is #3. We personally grew 100 acres this year . This all depends on the year . You most likely eat what comes from this every day.. I love this picture. My Boy took it @bostevenson08 . I think all farm pictures are Beautiful ?. Today I was interviewed by the wonderful @alexandragast for a video campaign of people who have a passion for farming and agriculture. One of the questions she asked was “Why do you want to come back to the farm?” ? It’s hard to put exactly into words “why”…but THIS. This is why. I get to see the sunset on my family’s farm. I get to share this passion with my Dad and work toward following in his footsteps. Not to mention that I get to hang out with cows on a regular basis…and that’s a good enough reason for me ??

In 1892, John Froelich invented the first successful gasoline-powered engine that could be driven backwards and forwards, what we call a tractor today. Within 80 years, the number of tractors on farms exceeded the number of horses and mules, and 96 percent of cotton was harvested mechanically.

And that’s a wrap on Fall harvest! . 44 days- lots of breakdowns, some snow days, some good fields-some bad (all uncontrollable circumstances that we’ve accepted like champs), learned to run the combine solo, survived 2 kiddos in a cab with lots of 90s rap, spark, window drawing, iPad time, dots pretzels and grace sprinkled with some patience and a mich ultra or three each night . . Overall a giant blessing to do it together and see all the 2019 hard work being taken to the elevator. We’re grateful sideways, right ways and all the ways in between ❤️ Thankful for each person who committed to our crew and made it to the final countdown .
