Farmer’s ‘Bride Wanted’ classified ad gets global response

Published:

From Texas to Australia, a Scotland farmer is getting quite the response to his quirky ‘Bride Wanted’ classified ad he posted earlier this week on The Farming Forum.

A 37-year-old welder and cattle farmer from Glen Fincastle, David Harris (aka Farmer Dave) didn’t think too much of his light-hearted post:  “BRIDE WANTED: Looking for a wife, ages between 28 and 40. New or in good used condition, color not important, preferably low mileage… but a high mileage one with a good chassis would be acceptable too.”

Harris went on to say “ideally in Scotland, but willing to import one from down south or abroad,” “must be a good cold morning starter and tolerant of rougher conditions,” and “service record not needed:unsure:, but a user manual would be a massive bonus.”

The post has gotten the attention of more than 22,000 site visitors with 800-plus replies post-thread. Some Scottish organizations have even taken to cheering on Harris on social media. We wish Farmer Dave the best of luck in finding his true love!
