Montana wind developer dies after tractor tips off trailer

A Montana farmer and wind developer was killed over the weekend after the tractor he was trying to load onto a trailer tipped over and crushed him.

Martin Wilde, 61, was attempting to load an open-cab tractor with a farm implement attached onto a flatbed, when the tractor tipped off and landed on him, causing blunt force trauma to his chest. The accident occurred at Wilde’s farm west of Fairfield Saturday.

In 2015, Wilde’s company, WINdata LLC, developed a 10-megawatt wind farm near Fairfield and a 25-megawatt farm near Greenfield.
