#ICYMI a bovine on the loose in Queens, New York this afternoon made quite the buzz on social. Good Morning America even live streamed the coverage of the 45-minute chase before officers were able to corral the animal in a backyard.
According to NBC News, the animal died at some point before 2:30 p.m., nearly three hours after it escaped a Beaver Road slaughterhouse. Fox News reported that police officials used a tranquilizer to calm him and also injected the animal with a syringe of xylazine, a drug used for sedation. A cause of death for the animal wasn’t immediately clear, but a spokeswoman for Animal Care Centers of NYC said it died during transport.
This wasn’t the first time the borough has had to chase cattle down that have escaped the slaughterhouse.
Dear non-Ag Twitter followers:
Cow: lady cow
Bull: mean sob still full of testosterone and desire to kill
