National FFA Organization named among the top workplaces

Published:

The National FFA Organization is more than a special organization for its members, it also has been recognized by its staff. While the pandemic made working look a little bit different for everyone over the past year, the staff members at the National FFA Organization still ranked their workplace one of the top places to work.

This month, the organization was recognized by the Indianapolis Star as one of the top workplaces in central Indiana. The recognition was based on a survey that employees took in late 2020. More than 1,000 employers participated in the program — ranging from small, medium, and large employer categories. National FFA was one of 89 businesses selected based on the survey results.

“This award is a wonderful acknowledgment of how the staff at FFA work together to form a positive and engaging culture in the workplace,” said Denise Weathersbe, director of human resources for the National FFA Organization. “As the organization seeks to build the next generation of leaders, we are proud of our staff for exemplifying those traits.”

The anonymous survey asked questions about the work environment, leadership, culture, pay/benefits and more. The survey indicated that employees at FFA were enthusiastically engaged enough to make the list of top workplaces.

With an employee count of 106 during the time of the survey, the National FFA Organization is listed as a top workplace in the medium-size category. In that category, the National FFA Organization was ranked 41st.

According to the Top Work Places website, “FFA has a strong internal culture of holistically supporting its staff through recognition, health/wellness, community relations, diversity and inclusion, and activities that instill a sense of FFA pride. Through its values of accountability, integrity and respect, the staff provides leadership, diversity initiatives, collaboration and engagement opportunities that directly impact the lives of students and stakeholders with the ultimate goal of growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.”

The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 760,000 student members as part of 8,700 local FFA chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
