Texas FFA’s annual coloring contest connects students to ag

Published:

Teaching the next generation about agriculture is integral, and what better way to do that than connecting the youngest of students to the largest career and technical organizations in schools? As FFA chapters across the country gear up for National FFA Week, Texas FFA’s annual coloring contest is kicking off in elementary classrooms across the state.

The 2024 FFA Week Coloring Contest isn’t just an opportunity for elementary-aged students to learn more about and celebrate agriculture but for FFA chapters to connect with area elementary schools in hosting the coloring contest.

“This can be a great way to advocate for agriculture and celebrate FFA week,” writes the Texas FFA Organization.

The 2024 FFA Week Coloring Page can be downloaded here. All students need to do is download, print the coloring sheet, and color it with any medium.

Artwork should be submitted to a local FFA chapter by their set deadline. The chapter will then select one winner from each grade category (K-1, 2-3, 4-5).

Local chapters will then mail the winners to Texas FFA by February 23.

Each grade category will have one winner awarded around March 1, 2024, for each category judged on creativity and coloring skills.

The Texas Farm Bureau sponsors the prizes.

Last year’s winners included Mattilyn P. in the K-1st division, whose coloring sheet was selected by Sinton FFA’s chapter.

In the 2nd-3rd grade divisions, Molly F.’s coloring sheet was selected by the Lake Travis FFA chapter.

Charlie A. was selected by the Troup FFA chapter, and won the 4th-5th grade division.
