This old barn seemed especially sad and lonely when l captured it late this spring. Was a cloudy morning with dark, menacing clouds hovering between the hills in the Driftless Region. The roof repairs give this barn a patchwork look which is beautiful in its own way. The vinyl siding is a light olive green color and contrasts in a unique pattern with the vertical aged barn boards. The cupolas on the roof are still in good condition. Interesting to see the lightning rods on the entire expanse which is something l haven't seen for a long while. Seeing that steep elevator up to the hay mow sure brings back memories of unloading wagons full of hay bales while a youngster on our farm. It takes special skill to place the hay bales on the moving conveyer without tumbling to the ground. This barn didn't appear to be abandoned so maybe the cattle will be around later in the season. I feel like this barn has worked hard all its life, but that it still has some energy left it it despite the visual wear and tear. It appears to be tough and resilient…just like farmers. : : #ag365 #agdaily #farmsnaps #discoverwisconson #bpa_rural #barns #be_one_rural #barnsofinstagram #countryroads #mcl_rural #midwestliving #midwestmoment #wisconsinbarns #wisconsinfarms #wisconsinrural #ig_america_rural #ig_ruralamerica #ig_countryside #hdr_country #rurallife #roamwisconsin #ruralwisconsin #rural_love #country_features #raw_country #ig_rural #total_rural
