This is Thor Oechsner, an organic grain grower from the Finger Lakes region of NY. He is pictured here amidst a mountain of golden Flint corn destined for polenta. Not only a farmer, Thor is also a powerful catalyst for change in his local grain landscape. He helps farmers transition to organic by purchasing their grain during the 3 year transition phase and finding direct markets for it through his grain mill and wide network of buyers.
