How farmers showed their love on Valentine’s Day

Published:

Everyone knows that farmers work 365 days a year. They don’t get special breaks for Valentine’s Day. Although they work endless hours, they still find time for their sweetheart. Although maybe not the traditional flowers and chocolates, farmers showed their love in unconventional ways, which meant using the farm. Here are some of our favorite ways farmers said, “I Love You” yesterday.

WOW. How could you see this and not smile?! This classic song from Joe Diffie, saying “Billy Bob loves Charlene in letters three foot high,” just got a new twist. But don’t worry, it is still in John Deere green. (Good luck getting that song out of your head for the rest of the day.) Chip and Joanna Gaines — the reason your wife wants to put ship lap on every thing  — has their famous silos in Waco, Texas. Chip decided to make a small change to the silos in order to it make Valentine’s Day unforgettable this year. “The whole town said that he should’ve used red, but it looked to Joanna.”

Check out Farmer Derek Klingenberg’s hard work while feeding the cows. This takes some intensive planning, skills, and hungry cows. This makes jewelry or roses seem dull.

Farmers have a “corny” sense of humor. These images, courtesy of Missouri State’s College of Agriculture, perfectly describes a farmer’s Valentine’s Day with these e-cards!

Nothing says I love more than a heart-shaped steak to a farmer or rancher. Ribeyes and hearteyes.

This is painfully true. Valentine’s Day is about the last calm moment row crop farmers have until planting starts, watering and then harvest to follow. Enjoy the calm while you can.

We love when farmers get creative and show how much they care in special ways — not everyone will get it, but it only matters that the ones they love do.
