Our Farms opens farm-direct marketplace for over 3,000 farms

Published:

Our Farms is looking to place farmers at the forefront of the food supply chain — making farm-fresh produce easily accessible to all.

The company’s online directory, which launched on National Farmers Day, features over 3,000 farms and ranchers nationwide and includes beef, poultry, dairy, and produce. Users can set up free profiles on the platform, explore farms within their regions and beyond, engage with farmers through direct messaging, receive offers, and shop farm directs

Our Farms hopes this will foster a closer connection between consumers and producers.

It’s no secret that there’s a growing consumer demand for fresh, transparent food products. But Our Farms says that farmers deserve recognition as well.

Robbie Dye, Co-Founder & CEO of Our Farms, stated, “The most eye-opening thing to me is that farmers and ranchers, who work tirelessly to feed their communities, have gone completely unrecognized. We go to the grocery store, pick out what we need, and never think about how it all got here.”

There are both free and paid listing packages available to farmers. End-users can tailor their search for convenience and proximity and choose from direct-to-door shipping, local pick-up, or on-site farm stores. The search function is very easy to use, and while the site has gobs of farms listed geographically across the country, many of those listings also don’t have profiles that have been built out or claimed as of yet.

Tyler Speer, Co-Founder & COO, remarked, “By leveraging our experience in brand building and eCommerce, we are bringing enablement tools to serve the agricultural industry and support the farm-to-consumer business model.”

In a news release, Our Farms says it is committed to supporting farms in a digital transformation journey, offering comprehensive marketing tools, customer service, shipping, and logistics. Tools will be released in a phased approach through 2024.

Dye emphasized, “When we began to dig deeper into the challenges farmers face, we couldn’t let this go. We believe that the community developing around Our Farms has the opportunity to truly move the needle by offering a solution that benefits the farmer in bringing their products to market at scale and yield higher profits.”
