Equity Co-Op offers over $16,500 in scholarships

Annually, the Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association offers 10 $1,250 four-year or university scholarships and four $1,000 technical college scholarships.

“Equity Livestock is proud to help students further their education by offering scholarships,” says Curt Larson, President and CEO. “Education can make a difference, and the expense of attending college can be a challenge. Offering scholarships can help make it affordable, and we believe in investing in our future leaders.”

Students applying must have completed two or more semesters at an accredited college or university or at least one semester at a technical college. They must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Either the student, their parents or their grandparent must be an active member or employee of Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association.

Applicants will be selected based on their academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, leadership, and answers to the questions on the application.

Applicants should plan to include the following in their application:

  1. Completed application found here
  2. Unofficial transcript
  3. Spring course schedule
  4. One letter of reference

“As we look to the future of agriculture, our board of directors is dedicated to helping today’s youth become tomorrow’s leaders,” says Curt Larson, President and CEO. “Our goal is to encourage more young people to pursue agricultural careers.”

The deadline to apply is November 30, 2023.
