GeneSeek and CRV partner in genomic profiling

Published:

Genomic screening for dairy herds might have just gotten a little easier for producers. A new partnership brings together GeneSeek, the largest agrigenomics laboratory in the world, with CRV, a world-leading cattle improvement organization.

Neogen Corporation recently announced that its GeneSeek subsidiary has entered into a partnership with CRV to add CRV’s innovative health and efficiency traits to GeneSeek’s extensive dairy genomic testing solutions.

“Many commercial dairy operations are finding a great return on investment with genomic screening of their herds. The opportunity to add CRV’s well-respected health and efficiency traits to our dairy genomic tests provides even greater value to the results that we can provide producers,” said Neogen’s Dr. Stewart Bauck in a recent release. “GeneSeek and CRV have worked for years on the development of dairy genomic programs, because we understand just how critical it is for those in the dairy business to select the best available sires and dams from their pool of available animals to produce the next calf crop.”

Neogen’s Igenity Dairy Heifer Program provides genomic profiling solutions focused on commercial dairy cattle. For commercial cattle, Igenity-Select and Igenity-Essential provide streamlined and cost-effective solutions for the commercial dairy operation.
