Nat’l. Pork Board partnership to support the show pig industry

Published:

Showpig and the National Pork Board are partnering to enhance and support the show pig industry. This collaboration focuses on delivering practical resources, educational programs, and advocacy support to producers and exhibitors.

Showpig and the NPB are partnering to provide valuable resources and education to the show pig community. This alliance is a commitment to the growth and prosperity of the show pig sector. By pooling assets and expertise, Showpig and the NPB aim to create needed education for the pork industry specifically tailored to the show pig sector

“This partnership marks a significant milestone for both Showpig and the National Pork Board,” said Megan Wendt, Vice President and COO at Showpig. “By combining our strengths, we can make a lasting impact on the show pig industry, ensuring its continued growth and success.”

“The National Pork Board is thrilled to join forces with Showpig in this strategic partnership,” said Dr. Brett Kaysen, Senior Vice President of Producer and State Engagement at the National Pork Board. “Together, we will create resources and opportunities that support everyone that makes up the pork industry.”

The efforts made possible by this partnership will focus on two key areas of the show pig industry: producers and exhibitors. Producers can expect to see programs and information that are beneficial to their operation, increasing their network of resources and enhancing their understanding of both the opportunities and threats the pork industry faces.

Exhibitors, especially those with a passion for the pork industry, can expect to expand their network beyond the show ring. These programs will equip the future of our industry with the knowledge and connections required to create informed and committed advocates for the greater pork industry.

The partnership announcement was made at the Legends and Dreamers Sale and Showpig Summit held in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 29. The partnership’s tactics will take effect starting in January 2024.
