Shade Haven provides relief to cattle on the go

Published:

Livestock producers with smaller size herds will be able to keep their cattle cooler more affordably this summer with the newest mobile shade model, the SH500, from the Shade Haven company.

The Viroqua, Wisconsin company  is the world’s leader in innovative mobile shade structures for agricultural and commercial applications. The Shade Haven company first introduced the model SH1200 in 2012  for the fast-developing managed intensive grazing movement. For the last five years, the SH1200 has successfully provided shade for herds of 75 or more beef and dairy animals all over the world.

“The Shade Haven made an incredible difference in my herd’s health and performance and totally changed my grazing routine. I used to suffer as much as my animals looking for a way to provide shade. Now I got it, every day, exactly where I want it. I love it,” said Rick Brown, Wisconsin grass-fed beef producer, in a recent release.

The SH1200 provides 1200 square feet of movable shade and is designed for groups from 30 to 75 head. The SH500 creates 500 square feet of shade and will provide movable shade for herds from five to 30 large animals or much bigger numbers of sheep, chickens, or pigs.

The patented, award-winning SH1200 has proven to be tolerant of wind and animal abuse, and is being used by leading grazers all over the world. The much less expensive SH500 is geared for smaller herds and producers with smaller budgets. The SH500 will be available for delivery starting in March 2017.
