Not a Halloween trick: 3 cattle carcasses found on roof of abandoned Utah home

Published:

Rural Wisconsin photographer Stephanie Hull is used to making spooky discoveries, but her latest finding was “one of the spookiest things I’ve ever found,” she said in the description on a TikTok video.

During a recent trip, Hull encountered an abandoned house in the Utah desert. On the structure’s roof, she discovered three bovine carcasses.

With no other homes nearby, Hull’s TikTok viewers have debated how the cattle may have ended up on the roof. Among the top comments are mountain lions and skinwalkers (a shapeshifting witch in the Navajo culture).

Here’s the video, with a warning that it might be too unsightly for some people.

Hull said that she had tried to research why the cows might be on the roof but hadn’t found much. How ever it was they got there, it appears to have been intentional.

They have straps on them. One is strapped around the neck. I think they were put up there. It’s easier to see in the photos I took,” writes Hull.

Another user said, “Rancher probably put them up there to not entice coyotes to check his herd.” Meanwhile, other unusual theories, such as flooding or snowfall, have been discussed.

Utah is home to the Skinwalker Ranch, where UFO sightings and cattle mutilations have been reported.
