GoFundMe set for Wisconsin family after father, son die in silo

Published:

A GoFundMe account has been set up for a Barron County, Wisconsin, family after a tragic silo accident took the lives of a father and son. Late Saturday evening, Dan Briel and his boys Caleb and David were cleaning the inside of a silo on their family farm when the silage collapsed in on them burying them.

Caleb, age 15, was able to get out and call for help. Tragically, by the time rescuers made it to the farm and accessed the father, he had already passed. David, who had just turned 14 six days prior, still had a weak pulse and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, his injuries were too great and he passed before the ambulance could reach the life flight team.

The GoFundMe has been set up to help Briel family with funeral expenses and other costs as they cope with this heartbreaking loss. So far they have raised more than $32,000 of their $40,000 goal.
