A North Carolina woman turned herself in Monday in a 2015 homicide case involving a man she met on Farmers Only.  Sheri Jones surrendered at the Cumberland County Detention Center to be served with warrants for her arrest for 1st Degree Murder.

On the morning of June 10, 2015, the Cumberland County Sheriff`s Office was dispatched to the 6000 block of Sangi Lane in Fayetteville. According to police, the 911 caller stated that Jones had shot Clarence Smith.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they found Smith lying in the front yard motionless. Authorities said that Jones told them she was the one who shot him and it was self-defense. Jones said she called Smith to have him come to her house to pick up his things.

The investigation revealed that 57-year-old Jones met 61-year-old Smith on the Farmers Only dating website, and the two started dating a couple months prior to Smith’s death. The two were not getting along and were separating when the shooting occurred, police said.

Jones is being held without bond pending her first appearance in court Tuesday.
