John Deere unveils newest tillage tools

Published:

In a pair of machinery announcements that came out today from John Deere, the focus was on tillage — in a big way.

The new equipment — 2630 Series Disks and Vertical Tillage tools — incorporates Deere’s on-the-go precision control TruSet Technology.

The 2620 Series tillage tools are intended to bring greater control to light, medium and heavy-duty tillage operations. The lineup includes four distinct models: 2630 Disk, 2633 Disk, 2635 Disk and 2633 Vertical Tillage implement, each providing different levels of soil penetration, residue mixing and seedbed preparation.

Deere customers can select from either mechanical stabilizer wheels or TruSet hydraulic stabilizer wheels as an option to maintain more consistent depth control on rolling ground. Other important features of the 2630 Series tillage tools include new extended-life bearings that provide greater durability and reliability with the ability to customize bearing maintenance based on soil and tillage conditions. For heavy, wet or rocky soils, a knife-edge hydraulic rolling basket option is now available, in addition to traditional round-bar and flat-bar baskets.

Deere has also said that TruSet is going to be available on more new and late model tillage tools, including the 2720 Disk Ripper, for 2018.

“TruSet now brings precision capabilities to many tillage operations like never before. As a result, operators can till each acre the way they want by making more precise and faster adjustments to depth (0.1-inch accuracy) and down pressure (0-900 psi) as residue, compaction and soil conditions change across the field,” said Jarred Karnei, product marketing manager for John Deere. “At the same time, tillage information for each field is mapped and stored and can be overlaid with other data to make better agronomic decisions later on.”

Karnei said that TruSet is available from the factory on many new John Deere tillage implements, and can be added to many late-model tillage tools, including:
• 2730 Combination Ripper
• 2720 Disk Ripper
• 2230 Field Cultivator
• 2330 Mulch Finisher
• and 2510H Nutrient Applicators.
