Facts don’t always convince people, and here’s why

It’s probably not hard to believe that our brains our wired more for survival than for accuracy, so people respond better to emotional and social dynamics rather than to actual data. Knowing that shines a huge light on why people such as Food Babe or websites such as Natural News have made so much headway.

As the video says, “Fighting ignorance with facts is a lot like fighting a grease fire with water — it seems like it should work but it really makes the whole thing worse.”
