Petersons’ Wheat Haulin’ a parody of Tom Petty’s biggest hit

· July 27, 2023

Slowing things down with some smooth acoustic guitar, Greg Peterson and his wife, BrookeAnna, pour their souls into Wheat Haulin’, a parody of Tom Petty’s biggest hit song, Free Fallin’

The lyrics kick off with:

Here in Kansas /
There’s a crop that is grown /
October /
Is when it is sown.

The couple in front of a wheat field is interspersed with images of combines rolling through their Kansas fields and sharing time in the cab with their kiddo. It ends with a celebration of all of the products made from wheat and how important this commodity is to our food system.

For more than a decade, so many of us have been big fans of the Peterson Farm Brothers and their songs — both their parodies and original hits. The Peterson family members have more than two dozen videos featuring their tunes, and they have a host of other informational and entertainment vids on their YouTube channel.
